Two Simple Words

I am a strong believer that the words if only should be replaced with next time in our life encounters. To dwell on if only is to look backward in time and not really benefit from the experience. The change in focus from if only to next time – allows the future to unfold. It unfolds because we are using the experience for its life value and as a stepping stone toward living the life we envision. Following is a poem that I hope will brighten your day and your outlook.

If only…..
I had not wasted my entire day and accomplished nothing.
Next time ….
I will plan my day and include moments that are just for me.

If only…..
I could spend more time on creating and less time on perfecting my creations?
Next time ….
I will create a deadline that forces me to move on.

If only …..
Things had worked out differently.
Next time ….
I will take those same circumstances, sprinkle in my true desires and create a different outcome.

If only ….
I had enough time to do the extra things I want to do.
Next time …..
I will find the time to do the things that bring me comfort and joy.

If only ….
I had known that I had such little time.
Next time …
I will enjoy every moment.
